چکیده

The feasibility of identifying habitat of sulfur fumigated Radix Astragali and of determining its sulfur dioxide residue using UV-vis and short wave near-infrared diffuse reflectance spectra coupled with chemometrics was first investigated. The results show that by using UV-vis-SWNIR DRS combined with PCA, the habitat of Radix Astragali is identified definitely, whether it is sulfur-fumigated, or not sulfur-fumigated; after waveband selection, SG smoothing and excluding outliers, PLS modelling results were improved with a R of 0.9238, 0.9104 and 0.9322 for calibration set, cross validation set and prediction set, respectively. A convenient and rapid method for identification of the habitat of sulfur fumigated Chinese herbal medicines and determination of sulfur dioxide residue by UV-vis-SWIR DRS was proposed.

Aqueous Extract of Acanthophyllum laxiusculum Roots as a Renewable Resource for Green synthesis of nano-sized titanium dioxide using Sol-gel Method

In this study, green or eco-friendly synthesis of TiO2 nanoparticles (NPs) was performed by using the aqueous extract of Acanthophyllum laxiusculum. The plant genus Acanthophyllumis one of the natural sources rich in nonionic surface active agents known as saponins. Sol-gel method as one of the most common techniques widely used in nano-field was applied to synthesize the titanium dioxide nanop...

Synthesis and Characterization of Anatase-coated Multiwall Carbon Nanotube for Improvement of Photocatalytic Activity

Sol-gel technique was used to coat multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) with anatase titania to increasing the surface area and improve the photocatalytic activity of TiO2. Room temperature ballistic conduct of MWCNT combined with semiconducting behavior of anatase brought about a photocatalytic improvement of ~37 % with respect to the highest methyl orange decolorization flair. For characteriza...

Preparation, characterization and Photo-inactivation of cellulose nanocrystals impregnated with meso-tetrakis(4-nitrophenyl)porphyrin

In this study, cellulose nanocrystals (CNC) was prepared and meso-tetrakis(4-nitrophenyl)porphyrin (TNPP) was immobilized on it. The product was identified by techniques of UV-Vis, fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), diffuse reflectance UV-Vis spectroscopy (DRS), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The effect of an amount of a loaded porphyrin comp...

Green Synthesis of Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles using Garlic skin extract and Its Characterization

Plant-mediated synthesis of metal oxide nanoparticles is a promising alternative to the traditional method of physical and chemical synthesis. In this paper, we report the green synthesis of zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnONPs) by a biological method. During the study, Zinc oxide nanoparticles were synthesized by Allium sativum skin (garlic skin) extract. Formation of zinc oxide nanoparticles has ...
